In one of my previous editorials, I spoke about how
consumption is the mother of all the factors. Well, what
could be better than EARTH DAY to reflect on today’s most
pressing environmental issues?
Let us ask ourselves a basic question: What should be the most
essential element to facilitate buying? If the answer is MONEY,
think twice. One may need to check the basics of one’s life and
understand what actually should be the reason for any
purchase. Now, think again. Is it money?
A NEED-BASED purchase, after a thorough
thought process, is the best gift one could give to
mother nature .
Let’s think! Do we really need a straw for a drink? Or, a new
gadget? How about carrying our own water bottles? After all,
it is consumption that triggers the cycle of production and
supply. Pollution is an unavoidable by-product of the
process of production .
Better India is the reality which has to be shaped
by us, all of us.
