Also , a lot of businesses reported speeding up their Digital Transformation which means that more data than ever before is moving to the cloud or being generated on the cloud . In terms of driving the adoption of cloudbased solutions , it differs per customer and vertical . For some customers , the top driver for public cloud adoption is strategic IT modernisation . For other customers , they are turning to the cloud for more tactical objectives to deliver services more innovatively and to save costs .
It ’ s clear that cloud migration and cloud creation will continue to accelerate , making it crucial for organisations to have the proper cloud strategy and a trusted partner to help them optimise their data for the journey . Such cloud strategy is focused on enabling customers to procure public cloud resources transparently and move workloads from , to , and across clouds ( either public or dedicated ) seamlessly . Channel partners should ensure data is secure in the cloud without sacrificing application performance , Plan backups and Disaster Recovery , increase privacy and compliance and prevent ransomware .
That said , there are many advantages cloud solutions bring to enterprises . One advantage of cloud systems is the ability to spin up new instances quickly . Instead of waiting for physical infrastructure to arrive , the cloud has pre-provisioned infrastructure in the cloud vendor ’ s data centre that has already been delivered , racked , and cabled . A second underappreciated cloud specific benefit is the ability to turn off systems when they are not needed . Importantly , this can be done in two ways : permanently and temporarily . •
