Welcome to Issue 56 of Intelligent Tech Channels . Barracuda , a trusted partner , and global provider of cloudfirst security solutions recently released its Fourth-Annual Threat Research Report on Ransomware . The latest report looks at ransomware attack patterns that occurred between August 2021 and July 2022 . For the 106 highly publicised attacks Barracuda researchers analysed , the dominant targets are still five key industries : education ( 15 %), municipalities ( 12 %), healthcare ( 12 %), infrastructure ( 8 %) and financial ( 6 %).
In this regard , we continue to cover articles in this edition of the magazine that address the issue of ransomware and how channel partners can assist their customers to deal with ransomware threats .
Gracing the cover of this month ’ s edition is George Moss , Channel Sales Manager , Southern Africa , Vertiv , who shares how the company is ramping up channel activities in South Africa as the data centre infrastructure solutions vendor moves to raise channel awareness in the wider Southern African technology market .
Among the many insights , Moss shares that : “ Currently the Vertiv channel is underdeveloped in South Africa as there is not great awareness of the product in the historic channel , and not great channel partner awareness in the IT market . Vertiv is focused on developing the channel business , for 1 to 20kva Rack mount UPS , PDUs and racks .
