Mayflex appoints Simon Steer as director of Sales for Security

Mayflex , the distributor of converged IP solutions , has appointed Simon Steer in the role of Director of Sales for Security .

Steer has extensive experience in the industry having previously worked for Indigo Vision for the last 10 years , where his last position was Sales Director covering the UK and Ireland and prior to that he worked for an installer for eight years in the security industry .
Ross McLetchie , Sales Director at Mayflex commented : “ We are delighted to welcome Simon to the team , he has good technical knowledge and commercial experience and great leadership qualities which will all be crucial for driving our continued growth of our security focused business .”
Ross said : “ Simon will be leading our external security team with a focus on the
UK and he will be working closely with our security vendors to continue building our close relationships with brands such as Avigilon , Axis , Hikvision , Milestone , Mobotix , Paxton , Suprema and Wavestore to name but a few .”
Steer added : “ I ’ m very much looking forward to being part of the Mayflex team , it ’ s a business that has continued to grow and evolve and one that puts the customer at the heart of everything that it does . I ’ m excited about getting to know my team , the Mayflex associates and most importantly getting to know and support our customers .”

Ben Crowe named as Vertiv ’ s colocation and cloud sales leader in Australia and New Zealand

Vertiv , a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions , has announced the appointment of Ben Crowe as vertical sales leader , colocation ( colo ) and hyperscale , for Australia and New Zealand . Crowe will be responsible for developing strategic alignment and deepening relationships with the Australia and New Zealand

Crowe joined Vertiv in August last year as key account manager for its colo and hyperscale division in Asia Pacific and India . In this role , he developed strong partner relationships and demonstrated a proactive ability to enable partner-led growth , prompting the promotion to lead the colo and hyperscale Australia and New Zealand business . Crowe will spend the next 12 months expanding the local team , and increasing its footprint , especially with sustainable technologies .
“ We ’ re in a highly attractive industry for investment – COVID sparked more digitisation and data centre activity , and many companies with a ‘ foot in ’ the industry , such as telcos and cloud players , are doubling down on colo facilities ,” said Crowe .
“ Ben ’ s appointment comes at a critical time for the colo and hyperscale division – the increased demand for data centre capacity has raised the issue of energy consumption in data centre construction and operation ,” said LuLu Shiraz , Sales Director for Product and Service in Australia and New Zealand for Vertiv . •
