NEWS Acronis enters official AI partnership with AS Roma Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection, has announced the official Artificial Intelligence partnership with Associazione Sportiva Roma, an Italian professional football club. Under the agreement, Acronis will be providing AI and Machine Learning (ML) solutions to process football data to optimise game and business operations and cyber protection solutions for mission-critical workloads. A.S. Roma’s Chief Operating Officer, Francesco Calvo, shared his thoughts on the importance of the partnership: “The sport of football is constantly evolving, and we have entered an age where we are more dependent than ever before on data to make gamewinning calls. However, the more important data is, the more at risk it becomes. This is why we are partnering up with Acronis to not only help us analyse and improve the quality of the data we collect, but also to protect it. We are excited to be #CyberFit with Acronis.” AI/ML technology is a major factor of the partnership. Not only is it being applied in data analysis, but it is also a core part of many of the solutions that AS Roma will be using to protect its systems. One such solution is Acronis Cyber Protect, an AI-powered integration of data protection and cybersecurity. Everything an organisation needs to protect itself from cyberthreats and data loss, including backup and recovery, anti-malware and security management can be managed from a single console. StarLink and Cloudera enter into distribution agreement StarLink, a true Value Added Distributor (VAD) in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region, has announced signing up with Cloudera for distribution in the Middle East and Egypt. The two companies will collaborate to expand Cloudera’s global footprint into the rest of the ME region beyond UAE and KSA, which holds huge potential for the enterprise data cloud. Data analytics has evolved over the last decade and organisations that successfully generate business value from their data are known to outperform their peers. Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) helps manage data, interpret analytics and put those insights into action, empowering organisations to transform complex data, anywhere it resides, into clear and actionable insights. Cloudera Data Platform creates and maintains a safe and secure data store for on-premises, hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, including private and public clouds. CDP is a new approach to enterprise data that delivers a full range of analytic capabilities, from the edge to AI. “Cloudera, a enterprise data cloud company, is all about data intelligence, AI, IOT, data analysis and forensics etc., which is trending at this point in time. The most exciting aspect of this alliance is that Cloudera perfectly complements StarLink’s portfolio as it expands the use case with all our technology partners. Thus, empowering our customers to do more with their data in-hand and achieve actionable business insights, making them stay ahead of the curve,” said Nidal Othman, Co- Founder and Managing Director, StarLink. 8
