Nuvias appoints Karl Roe as Vice President for services and cloud solutions
Karl Roe has been appointed Vice President Services and Cloud Solutions for pan-EMEA value distributor Nuvias Group . He will focus on transforming the delivery of services at Nuvias , utilising and enhancing current distribution routes to enable further channel adoption of cloud and annuity-based models .
Roe has over 20 years of proven experience in qualifying , creating , selling and delivering profitable datacentre , ASP , SaaS , IaaS , cloud and outsourced ICT business solutions into SMB and enterprise markets . He was instrumental in founding and developing the UK and MEA Software as a SaaS and cloud marketplaces . Roe has held global channel , service transformation and cloud enablement leadership positions , working on both vendor and reseller transformation , as well as working at major software companies such as Odin , Microsoft and Oracle . He has previously led Buy and Build service acquisition strategies for venture capital backed businesses , and has created customersuccess driven organisations with double digit business growth .
Over the last ten years , he has focussed on enabling cloud services across the Middle East , Africa and Australia .
Damian Wilk to join Veritas as Senior Regional Director , Middle East
Veritas Technologies , a vendor in information management , has announced new leadership appointments for the Middle East , where it plans to expand its enterprise business and grow operations and the team at its new regional offices in Dubai , over the next three years . The expansion is in response to growing demand from customers in the region for a data management platform that provides greater insights into data and protection of what Veritas describes as an organisation ’ s digital currency .
Veritas announced the appointment of Damian Wilk as the new Senior Regional Director for the Middle East , based at the regional head office in Dubai , UAE . In his new role , Wilk will head the new leadership team and is responsible for the strategic development of the business in the Middle East , where the company aims to expand its operations across the enterprise market .
Prior to joining Veritas , he held Regional Director roles with Good Technology and BlackBerry , responsible for the UK and Middle East region . He spent his career in the technology sector , with experience in roles including engineering , sales , regional management , and also as managing director .
Earlier this year the Veritas Global Databerg Report , uncovered new findings regarding three major types of data stored by organisations - business critical , redundant , obsolete , trivial ROT ; and dark data – unidentified and unclassified data which could be an asset , threat or liability .
The research discovered that companies in the UAE have one of the highest rates in EMEA of ROT stored in their corporate networks .
