Cisco appoints Waheed Al Hamaid as sales lead for Oman
Cisco Middle East announced the appointment of Waheed Al Hamaid as Country Sales Lead for Oman . In his new role , Waheed will lead Cisco ’ s business in the Sultanate and work closely with the partner ecosystem to support private and public sector customers in their efforts to digitise and transform their operations to drive business outcomes .
Oman urban centres are on the threshold of evolving into smart cities by utilising technology to create a new reality . With Cisco predicting more than 212 billion connected objects by 2020 , app-centric infrastructure , sensors and mobile devices are going to be the new normal for almost every city in the world , including those in Oman .
Translated in economic terms , connecting the unconnected can be as much some $ 19 trillion , or $ 4.6 trillion for the public sector , two-thirds of which can be realised by smart cities .
Cisco ’ s Smart City solutions help city leaders and decision makers address problems of urbanisation which could include traffic jams , overcrowding , pollution , resource constraints , inadequate infrastructure and the need for continuing economic growth , using intelligent networking capabilities .
Oman has developed its vision 2040 where logistics and transportation represent the main source of income for the Sultanate after oil and gas . In order to improve the efficiency and high quality services of the logistics and transportation sector , smart technology and fast IT will play an important role which will help foster innovative , real-time communications and collaboration while helping ensure safety and security .
Agilysys appoints James Slatter as Managing Director EMEA
Agilysys , a global provider of next-generation hospitality software solutions and services , announced that due to continued growth across its global markets , the company has opened a UK office to serve Europe , Africa and Middle East region . James Slatter has been named Managing Director of the new office . Slatter will report to Agilysys Senior Vice President of Global Revenue , Jim Walker .
Agilysys EMEA office will sell the company ’ s entire suite of hospitality solutions and services . In addition , it will offer account management , technical support , administration , installation and training resources for the region , where Agilysys has experienced significant growth over the last few years .
Slatter brings to Agilysys more than 20 years of experience in direct sales and leadership in large global corporations and has a track record for maximising margin and growing volume organically . Most recently , he served as Managing Director for the EMEA operation at ParTech , a global supplier of POS hardware . He holds a Bachelor ’ s Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Southern Queensland .
Mimecast appoints Jason Roos as channel director for Africa , Middle East
Mimecast , a global email and data security company , announced an executive appointment to strengthen its leadership team . Jason Roos joins Mimecast from South Africa based Internet Solutions , a subsidiary of Dimension Data , as the new Channel Director and will lead the channel teams in Africa and Middle East .
Jason brings 12 years of experience in the ICT industry , leading high-impact sales teams across the country , across all verticals . He will manage partner and alliance based engagements , and is tasked with establishing a renewed , energised channel programme .
In his previous role as Executive of Sales at Internet Solutions , he managed 13 sales teams across SME , channel , mid-market and enterprise accounts and held several sales leadership roles . Jason also spent three years in New York working in the Cisco channel with a Cisco Gold partner .
Kodak Alaris appoints Marc Jourlait as CEO
Mark Elliott , Chairman of the Board of Kodak Alaris , announced that Marc Jourlait has been named Chief Executive Officer of Kodak Alaris Holdings effective January 2017 . Jourlait will be based in Rochester , New York .
Interim CEO Jeff Goodman will return to his role as Chief Operating Officer to support Jourlait during the next few months . Jourlait ’ s arrival and Goodman ’ s transition will position Kodak Alaris in a strong , futurefacing direction to best serve its customers . Jourlait holds an MBA in international business from ESCP Europe in France .
