The most challenging part of the role is ensuring we best align as a team to serve the partners at peak performance. When you look back at your career what has been the most memorable achievement? I’m currently watching it become a reality. Creating an EMEA channel for the first time from a blank sheet of paper was quite a risky career decision but one I really wanted to take on. To see it grow over the last four years, watch a rockstar channel team come together and the achievements we have made together is something quite special and rewarding. What made you think of a career in technology? I actually never dreamed of working in technology. I had a temporary contract at RSA back in 2004 when moving back to the UK after living abroad. The security market intrigued me, I really liked the people, started doing well in my role and have never looked back. What do you think will be the hot technology talking point of 2020? With what’s currently going on in the world I believe the rush to the cloud will accelerate at an even faster rate. Cloud transformation projects including Security Management and access of those environments will remain top of the priority list. What are your personal interests and where do you like to spend most of your time after work? I’m an ex-ice hockey player, now spending time at the ice rink with my son’s (five) training sessions and taking my coaching badges to give back to the sport. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my family and friends socially. • It’s important to have faith in your vision, focus and be adaptable towards things that may divert your course in different directions. 62
