MARKET MOVEMENT SUSE onboards BPS as MEA cloud distributor SUSE, an open source software vendor, announced signing of BPS, a pure play service provider, channel cloud distributor, as a SUSE distributor for the Middle East and North Africa. As part of the agreement, BPS will spearhead the task of recruiting and on-boarding cloud service providers and providing flexible and bespoke business models for partners to o ffer on-demand solutions to their customers. Focusing initially on enterprises in telecom, utilities, banking and public sectors, across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Pakistan, BPS will be responsible for building a capable cloud service provider channel model in the region. This will include SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP, SUSE High availability and Management Extensions, SUSE OpenStack Cloud and SUSE Enterprise Storage. In addition to prospecting, identifying and recruiting aspirant cloud service providers, BPS will be tasked with enabling these partners, specifically by providing concept proposition, skill set enhancement and business re-modelling. For those cloud service providers that are on-boarded, BPS will continue to support them with end-to-end marketing and sales support, project planning, and technical guidance. Nuvias to distribute Infocyte HUNT in Middle East and Africa Developed by former US Air Force cybersecurity officers, Infocyte’s HUNT technology fills a void left by today’s real-time detection solutions. Nuvias Middle East and Africa, part of the panEMEA Nuvias Group, a high value distribution business, announced it has been appointed as Middle East and Africa distributor by Infocyte, a provider of hunt technology that eradicates malware and persistent threats. As a distribution partner, Nuvias Middle East and Africa will resell and distribute Infocyte HUNT throughout Middle East and Africa allowing Infocyte to expand its international market and reach. The distribution agreement will enable Nuvias to work with Infocyte to grow their Middle East and Africa footprint in the rapidly growing malware hunt market. The Infocyte HUNT threat hunting solution will be distributed through Nuvias’ preferred business partners. Infocyte HUNT is designed specifically to detect if malware is present on network endpoints. It scans and detects the post-intrusion activity, active or dormant, of attackers who have successfully evaded an organisation’s real-time defenses and established a beachhead within the network. It reduces the breach detection gap, the time that exists between infection and discovery, denying attackers the ability to persist, restoring trust in a network’s health. 60 Ingram Micro launches cloud marketplace for GCC countries Aptec, an Ingram Micro company, announced launch of the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace, an automated cloud services platform that is now available in the following countries across the Middle East region including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and UAE. The Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace is an ecosystem that brings together buyers and sellers to conduct business on a single platform. Rather than building out a comprehensive and multilayered infrastructure, resellers can leverage pre-built, flexible platform from Ingram Micro to purchase, provision, manage and invoice technology solutions for their end-user customers. With the launch, the following cloud solutions have been added to the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace, including Microsoft Office 365 through the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider programme and a suite of migration services from SkyKick, which allows service providers to move customer mail and related data to Office 365 in an easy way for increased sales velocity and reduced project risk. A number of additional cloud offerings including Dropbox for Business and BitTitan are expected to be added soon. The Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider programme empowers solution providers to fully own the end-customer relationship. This enables them to manage the endto-end subscription lifecycle which helps ensure greater customer satisfaction, higher renewal margins and topline cloud revenue.
