Digital transformation not yet strategic pillar
for UAE, Saudi Arabian organisations, Dell
EMC Forum
Dell EMC hosted its flagship Dell EMC
Forum at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh,
Saudi Arabia. Following Dell Technologies’
first anniversary celebration as the world’s
largest privately-controlled technology
company, Dell EMC demonstrated its
strength from the edge to the core to the
cloud, aimed at facilitating the economic
directives of Vision 2030.
Recent findings of a survey conducted
by Dell Technologies, across 16 countries
and 12 industries including the UAE and
Saudi Arabia, indicate that only a small
minority 4% of organisations surveyed
have implemented digital transformation
initiatives and can be deemed as digital
leaders. This points to a bigger issue –
although digital transformation is central
to meet the regional digital agenda, it is not
yet a strategic pillar to many organisations
across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The forum acts as a platform to enable
organisations to resolve pressing business
and IT challenges in the public, financial
services, energy, education, and SME
sectors through the adoption of advanced
technologies and power the Kingdom as a
technology-driven economy.
Mohamed Talaat, Vice President, Saudi
Arabia, Egypt, Libya and Levant at Dell EMC
said, “We know that digitisation is critical to
realise the directives of Vision 2030, which
has initiated a new wave of enterprising
opportunities for the Kingdom. To this end,
it is imperative for organisations in the
Kingdom to make digitisation central to
their business strategies, which is essential
in achieving the larger objective of our
ambitious vision, that is, to drive innovation
and sustainable economic growth.
Only then can the Kingdom create an
environment that fosters talent, high levels
of innovation and ensures betterment of
our people and community.”
