New Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud upgraded with EDR for small and medium businesses
Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud now includes endpoint detection and response ( EDR ) capabilities dedicated for small and medium-sized organisations . It gives IT administrators visibility over affected endpoints and the attack kill chain , so they can analyse incident parameters and root causes , and then take proactive measures to enhance overall business protection .
Reliable protection from cyberrisks is essential for small and mid-sized businesses to keep their work , data and finances safe . However , according to Kaspersky ’ s research , these companies may lack visibility over the IT environment when dealing with threats . This was ranked as one of the biggest challenges by 40 % of SMBs .
Details about an attack , affected users and the entry point can help businesses improve their security practices , in addition to the automated protection on all corporate endpoints .
Thanks to EDR capabilities now available , IT managers can see visualised attack spread paths , details about affected machines ( OS versions and users ), infected file names and hashes , creation , modification and startup parameters .
Online spend doubles but the ‘ COVID-19 effect ’ on e-commerce won ’ t be permanent
As high streets and shops start to reopen across the UK , business leaders will need to adapt their approaches if they are to encourage a sustained footfall . LambdaTest , the browser testing platform , has published the first in a series of data-driven reports that take a deep dive look into consumer expectations of in-store and e-commerce experience .
In a wide-ranging survey of UK consumers , LambdaTest reports that online spending surged in the 12 months since the start of the first COVID-19 lockdown , but any suggestion that the pandemic has transformed the way consumers will shop forever is based on hope rather than fact . There ’ s been a 233 % surge in the number of people using the Internet to do most of their shopping over the 12 months ( up 33 % to 77 %).
While 70 % of people whose monthly online spending has increased in the last year put it down to COVID-19 , 68 % say they ’ ll spend less online after the pandemic passes .
Four out of every five SMBs are victims of counterfeiting on the Internet
Four out of every five small and mediumsized companies in the world suffer from counterfeits and brand abuse on the Internet . These illicit products are advertised and sold through digital marketplaces , social networks and rogue sites ( websites that imitate that of the official brand itself ).
Cybercriminals have put a new focus on their criminal activities on the Internet and the trend now is to focus on SMBs that are usually more vulnerable than large companies . The sectors which are most susceptible to such infringements are listed in order as follows , fashion , sports , electronics , homeware , toys and beauty and personal care .
These are the main conclusions of a study , conducted by Smart Protection , a cybersecurity company that reduces the impact that piracy and counterfeiting have on its clients ’ content and brands . This study , Impact of online counterfeits in SMBs 2021 , highlights the vulnerable situation of small and medium sized companies on the Internet .
