Inovo catalyses global investors as it closes new fund on € 54 million to scale Polish start-ups
Inovo , a venture capital fund investing in technology start-ups across Poland and Central and Eastern European region ( CEE ), has announced the final close of its second fund , Inovo II , at € 54 million . A range of global funds , entrepreneurs and family offices joined the European Investment Fund ( EIF ) as the cornerstone investor .
Inovo specialises in identifying disruptive tech start-ups and supporting their development and growth through participation in early-stage , post-traction seed and Series A funding . Having a diverse range of LPs in the fund will enable portfolio companies to secure global funding as they scale and expand abroad . The new fund has already committed funding to several investment opportunities with leading international investors , including European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ( EBRD ), Andreessen Horowitz , Hoxton Ventures and Point Nine Capital . Notable investments include : Spacelift , Infermedica , Jutro Medical , AI Clearing , Zowie , Preply , Packhelp , Intiaro , Tidio , Allset and Eyerim .
Nokia and NCTC partnership bring tailored fibre solutions to 700 US operators
Nokia has announced an agreement with the National Cable Television Co-operative ( NCTC ) to aid and expedite its member companies ’ broadband service roll-outs and expansions .
Under the terms of the agreement , Nokia will provide NCTC members with tailored fibre solutions and access to premier service programmes . The Nokia solution also enables a simple upgrade path to 25Gb / s .
NCTC represents more than 700 cable and broadband operators in all 50 US states and its territories . Its members serve approximately 15 million consumers with broadband service across 3,000 plus communities , many of which are smaller and located in rural areas .
“ On behalf of our members , we are very excited to establish a partnership with a technology leader like Nokia ,” said Rob Smith , Senior Director of Procurement , NCTC . “ Nokia is the only NCTC partner that currently offers a 25G symmetrical PON solution , and its complete wired and wireless service portfolio is cutting edge .”
Survey finds European businesses focused on merging culture and technology to empower productivity
Smartsheet , an enterprise platform for dynamic work , revealed 71 % of technology decision makers are rethinking their longer-term strategic decisions around workforce technologies , according to a commissioned survey of enterprise professionals conducted by 451 Research , part of S & P Global Market Intelligence . Decision makers globally are considering how technology can alleviate workplace culture concerns related to collaboration , worklife balance and productivity , brought on by the shift to remote work . Forty-one percent of UK respondents reported work-life balance difficulties and the risk of burnout as the most significant hurdle when supporting distributed workers , which was echoed by 50 % of
US respondents . This trend was repeated by 31 % of UK respondents ( vs . 45 % of US ) who worry about employees leaving for other opportunities .
However , one concern both UK and US respondents agreed upon was not having the technologies to effectively support remote work , where the combined average was 32 %. �
