BT expands green tech platform to help manufacturers reach net zero
BT has announced the next phase of its Green Tech Innovation Platform – which sees the company collaborating with scale-ups to develop breakthrough tech to support the race to net zero .
The Green Tech Innovation Platform , launched in 2020 , was awarded the Responsible Business Alliance Innovation Award at COP26 and has already fostered a series of successful green innovation partnerships . These are focused on developing solutions to help public sector organisations in reaching their net zero carbon emissions targets .
“ Through expanding our innovative approach to green technology we ’ re accelerating action to address climate change while supporting start-ups and scale-ups as they look to take their new solutions to market ,” said Dean Terry , MD Corporate and Public Sector at BT .
80 % of SMBs urge ISPs to make SLAs visible for Internet connections
The majority of UK SMBs ( 80 %) want their ISPs to be transparent with them regarding the performance and service support they offer with Internet connections , according to a new survey titled SLAs Matter .
Spitfire Network Services ’ SLAs Matter survey of 401 UK-based SMBs sought to better understand how aware of Service Level Agreements SMBs are – the commitment between a service provider and the customer . Service
SLAs are focused on elements such as response and fix times should a connection drop out and performance SLAs provide assurances on agreed levels of performance , such as latency and data packet loss .
The data showed that only 56 % of SMBs know what the SLAs are with their current Internet connection . If their connection drops in performance over any period , these businesses have no understanding of how to easily address the situation .
