PROJECT ROUND-UP
UNITED STATES PHILIPPINES i3logix, the Denver-based software company behind BallotTrax, has secured a second US patent for its mail-ballot tracking and notification system reinforcing its role in delivering proactive ballot alerts to voters.
Sutherland, a global leader in business and Digital Transformation, has partnered with the Philippine government to launch a dedicated AI Academy to prepare the Filipino workforce for an AI-driven future.
US Patent No. 12,340,633 expands protections for BallotTrax, the only system that notifies voters by text, email or voice of their ballot’ s status at every step of the mail voting process.“ Ballot status notifications have become one of the most cherished features of vote-by-mail systems,” said Steve Olsen, CEO, i3logix.“ Now that our technology is protected by patent, we’ re ensuring that counties and states can continue providing these critical alerts legally, reliably and securely. Voter confidence depends on it.”
BallotTrax now serves 19 states and nearly 400 counties, tracking one in four US ballots. The company says its patented system lowers costs, improves accountability and strengthens voter trust.
MEXICO
The academy will provide industry-aligned training to equip professionals with skills in Artificial Intelligence, prompt engineering and cybersecurity. It aims to boost the country’ s talent pool by enabling workers to drive productivity, innovation and high-value opportunities across industries.
“ This initiative is a vital step toward our goal of building a digitally resilient and inclusive workforce,” said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.“ By expanding access to training in future-ready skills, we are empowering our countrymen to take part in – and benefit from – an economy increasingly shaped by AI.”
The partnership will support FinTech, healthcare and digital sectors, with backing from government agencies and provinces, positioning the Philippines as a leader in AI-driven workforce development.
Green Corridors, a new public-private logistics initiative, has received White House approval to construct, maintain and operate the crossborder IFTS linking Monterrey, Mexico with Laredo, Texas.
The system aims to ease congestion, improve security and streamline trade between the two cities.
“ This project represents a paradigm shift in transportation with our largest trading partner,” said Mitch Carlson, CEO, Green Corridors.“ By separating freight from public traffic, we can significantly reduce transportation costs and solve serious congestion and safety issues.”
The project features elevated guideways, freight terminals and an autonomous shuttle fleet, supported by advanced software to manage heavy trade corridors. Backed by private investors including the Swinbank family office, Druker Capital and the Chang Robotics Fund, Green Corridors will generate revenue through freight fees without government funding.
Groundbreaking is planned within 36 months, with first operations estimated to begin in 2031.
