H edition of Intelligent Data Centres where we explore some of the trends and developments raising their head across the industry . We hear from a number of experts who offer their best practice advice on various hot topics of interest .

This month ’ s cover star is Shamim Mohamed , Data Centre Operations and Service Readiness Manager , Three . I sat down with him to ask how the organisation worked with EkkoSense to meet corporate demand for 5 % total energy saving across its legacy sites . Derval O ’ Brien , Sustainability Manager , Three UK & I ; and Dean Boyle , CEO , EkkoSense , offer some further insight . This can be found on page 47 .
Another interesting topic of conversation , on page 17 , focuses on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for data centre decision-makers . Cadence carried out market research , interviewing over 750 technical practitioners and digital strategists to investigate some of the industry ’ s most pressing trends .
Elsewhere in the magazine , I asked the experts how they can persuade consumers to use less data in order to relieve the pressure on data centres . I received some thought-provoking responses from Mark Molyneux , EMEA CTO at Cohesity ; Dean Boyle , CEO , EkkoSense ; Julian Boneham , Data Practice Director at Node4 ; and Matt Watts , Chief Evangelist , NetApp , which you can read about in more detail on page 29 .
One of our main focal points this issue is green data centres , as is the case across the industry . On page 35 , we explore how data centre organisations such as maincubes are now strongly prioritising sustainability when building new facilities , while others are becoming increasingly recognised for their commitment to green initiatives .
Our ‘ Expert Opinion ’ feature this issue places a spotlight on how to navigate the data centre space as a woman . Takayo Takamuro , Managing Director , Telehouse Europe , tells us about her inspirational journey as a woman in the tech space , the importance of resetting the culture to make it more inclusive and appealing to women , as well as offering her advice for embracing working in a male-dominated industry .
Also contributing to this month ’ s magazine is Guy D ’ Hauwers , Global Director – HPC & AI , atNorth , who discusses data centre automation – in particular , how businesses that are embracing AI to safeguard longterm profitability can mitigate the considerable energy costs associated with high-performance computing and lessen the environmental impact at the same time .
