1 . JAPAN
Equinix has provided details on its US $ 3 billion xScale data centre programme , including projects currently under development in Japan . This global expansion will serve the growing demands of hyperscale companies that are deploying infrastructure at Equinix , while providing Equinix ’ s ecosystem of 10,000 customers with access to these strategic providers . On March 1 , Equinix opened its first xScale data centre in Tokyo TY12x . In addition to TY12x , the OS2x xScale data centre in Osaka is currently under development and is expected to open in Q4 2021 .
2 . INDIA
Singapore-based Princeton Digital Group ( PDG ), has announced its plan to build one of the largest new greenfield campuses in the Mumbai region , its first data centre in India , scheduled to be service-ready in 2022 . “ Our commitment to supporting our hyperscale customers in India is part of our core strategy to be a market leader in APAC ,” said Rangu Salgame , Chairman and CEO of PDG . With this campus , PDG has become a significant player in the India market .
