Describe your current job role
I ’ m the Chief Operations Officer at IDnow , one of Europe ’ s leading digital identity verification platforms . My role is both varied and stimulating given that I manage the largest department in the company .
As the COO , it ’ s my responsibility to ensure that IDnow is constantly providing a frictionless identity verification service across heavily regulated markets such as finance and gambling . We also offer digital onboarding for companies hiring new staff , remotely . Employee onboarding and contract signatures have become an essential part of our business , and companies require highly secure ID verification services to ensure that they ’ re onboarding the right ( and real ) person .
What would you describe as your most memorable achievement ?
Within a few months , I was able to transform a very challenging operations unit into a highly efficient company and gave the 120 new employees a new hope for the future . I also increased IDnow ’ s service level delivery from 30 % to a steady 90 % – all while ensuring a safe workplace during the pandemic .
What style of management philosophy do you employ with your current position ?
I believe in an asynchronous and autonomous workforce because I know that people work best when they are entrusted to complete a task or project . This is extremely important to me as it cultivates a culture of compassion and confidence . It ’ s important to me to create a fair , flexible and approachable team , where we all help each other .
When IDnow faced unprecedented demand for its services during the pandemic , strong and steady leadership with a customer-first focus was required . Quite the balancing act for a company that just acquired Wirecard Communications Services after its infamous bankruptcy .
At the same time as this acquisition , I was appointed to COO and I immediately had a compassionate handle of all employees worried about their future . In addition to this , I balanced delivering exceptional customer services for IDnow ’ s customers with a meticulous and thoughtful integration of Wirecard ’ s unit into IDnow .
