In its monthly analysis of the latest data breaches and cyberattacks across the world , IT Governance has identified 78 publicly disclosed security incidents in December 2022 – resulting in 31,586,757 compromised records . Compared to November 2022 , there is a slight decline where the organisation identified 95 publicly disclosed security incidents and 32,051,144 compromised records .

The Royal Mail experienced severe service disruption to its international export services following a cyber incident . The organisation released a statement about the issue saying that it was unable to despatch export items including letters and parcels to overseas destinations .
