The Labour Party announced it had experienced
a ‘sophisticated’ and ‘large scale’ cyberattack on
its digital platforms.
A spokesman for the party said in a statement that
swift action was taken and the attempts failed due
to the organisation’s ‘robust security’ systems.
The statement said: “The integrity of all our
platforms was maintained and we are confident
that no data breach occurred.”
It said security procedures had slowed down
some campaign activities, but these were quickly
restored and were back up to full speed.
“We have reported the matter to the National
Cyber Security Centre,” the statement added.

Trend Micro reported it had become aware of a security
incident that resulted in the unauthorised disclosure of some
personal data of an isolated number of customers of its
consumer product.
In a statement, the company said it immediately started
investigating the situation and found that this was the result of a
malicious insider threat.
The suspect was a Trend Micro employee who improperly
accessed the data with a clear criminal intent.
The statement said the company immediately began taking
the actions necessary to ensure that no additional data could
be improperly accessed and law enforcement have also been
involved. It sincerely apologised to all impacted customers.
