editor’s note
H
ello and
welcome to the
latest edition
of Intelligent
CISO. Our
cover story this
month features
an interview with Gabor Varjas, CISO,
Group Information Security, MOL Group.
MOL Group is a leading integrated
Central and East European oil and gas
corporation headquartered in Budapest,
Hungary, which has operations in more
than 30 countries and employs 26,000
people worldwide. Varjas talks about
how the organisation is approaching
the security of its OT systems, the
importance of training and education,
and how it is leveraging an RSA Security
solution to reduce its risk exposure.
As the consequences of a data breach
are huge – including both financial
penalties and reputational damage –
businesses and organisations must
ensure they have policies in place to
reduce the risk of such an incident.
In our first feature this month, industry
experts tell us about the benefits of a
zero trust approach to cybersecurity and
highlight some of the warning signs that
indicate an organisation might be at risk.
Malicious actors are constantly evolving
their attack methods and one serious
risk to enterprises is Business Email
Compromise (BEC), which appears to
be becoming more popular according to
research. In our ‘Expert Opinion’ article
this month, Andy Baldin, VP EMEA –
Ivanti, offers some advice on how best to
defend against these types of attacks.
Our ‘Feature 2’ this month explores the
role of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies
in cybersecurity – looking at both
the benefits and challenges of the
technology, as well as how one vendor is
addressing these.
To round off the magazine this month,
we ‘Go Phish’ with Marc Brungardt, Co-
founder and President, Foresite, who tells
us about life inside and outside the office.
As always, we also have a round-up of
all the latest news in the cybersecurity
sector, while our ‘intelligent’ brands
section looks at what’s new in mobile,
software, cloud, network, data and
physical security.
I hope you enjoy the magazine and if
you’d like to contribute to any future
issues please do not hesitate to contact
me by emailing [email protected]
