FRANCE/EUROPE
Airbus SE detected a cyberincident on Airbus ‘Commercial
Aircraft business’ information systems, which resulted in
unauthorised access to data.
The company said there was no impact on Airbus’
commercial operations and the incident was being
thoroughly investigated by experts who took ‘immediate
and appropriate actions’ to reinforce existing security
measures and to mitigate its potential impact, as well as
determine its origins.
In a statement, the company said: “Investigations are
ongoing to understand if any specific data was targeted,
however we do know some personal data was accessed.
This is mostly professional contact and IT identification
details of some Airbus employees in Europe.”
GLOBAL
Global photography network 500px reported
that its engineering team became aware of
a potential security issue affecting certain
user profile data. The company immediately
launched a comprehensive review of its
systems to understand the nature and scope
of the issue, while also engaging a third-
party expert to assist in the investigation and
coordinating with law enforcement authorities.
Based on its investigation, the company said it believed that an
unauthorised party gained access to its systems and acquired partial
user data around the time of July 5 2018.
It said a system-wide password reset was underway for all users,
prioritised in order of potential risk, and it forced a reset of all MD5-
encrypted passwords.
