Bombardier has announced that it suffered a limited cybersecurity breach .
An initial investigation revealed that an unauthorized party accessed and extracted data by exploiting a vulnerability affecting a third-party file-transfer application , which was running on purpose-built servers isolated from the main Bombardier IT network .
In accordance with established cybersecurity procedures and policies , Bombardier promptly initiated its response protocol upon detection of the data security incident . As part of its investigation , Bombardier
Sam Curry , Chief Security Officer at Cybereason , said : “ The silver lining for Bombardier is that they can use the opportunity from this latest breach to invest more time in checking all entry points to systems and their global network , and hopefully root out any other suspicious activity . While small in nature , the alarms should be blaring for all companies because Bombardier has admitted that designs for airplanes and plane parts are now available for free on the Dark Web .”
Bombardier also notified appropriate authorities including law enforcement and continued to work with the authorities as the investigation progressed .

Wyoming Surgical Associates selects Nexsan to provide storage backbone

Wyoming Surgical Associates has selected the Nexsan E-Series P storage platform to support the rapid growth of its general , vascular and spine surgery medical practice . Janis Black , Practice Manager , Wyoming Surgical Associates , said : “ For over five years , we had depended upon a Nexsan Unity NST 5000 . For us , it was a great entry level storage option because of its hybrid design , dependability and highly competitive pricing .

“ It provided us with scalability , support for both NAS and SAN and universal connectivity for fiber channel , ethernet and SAS . However , to support our rapidly growing medical practice , exponential data growth and rapid deployment of new applications , we decided it was time to update our data storage backbone .”
Wyoming Surgical Associates turned to DigeTekS , its trusted MSP to research , evaluate and recommend potential solutions . Given Wyoming Surgical Associates success with its existing Nexsan solution , together with the extensive and positive experience DigeTekS also enjoyed , Nexsan topped the list of data storage platforms to explore .
After an evaluation process , DigeTekS , which manages numerous Nexsan client deployments across Colorado and Wyoming , recommended the all-flash Nexsan E-Series 18P ( E18P ) storage platform .
The Nexsan E18P is supporting a wide range of medical and business applications , including but not limited to its Microsoft SQL Server , Microsoft Exchange , Citrix , Picture Archive and Communication Systems ( PACS ) and Lytec MD medical billing software .
