GTT and Ziply Fiber extend connectivity in US Pacific Northwest
Northwest region and will expand the power of GTT ’ s global Tier 1 IP network by offering an additional option for customers to connect in 11 major data centers and the Hillsboro subsea cable landing station , expanding the reach of GTT via Ziply Fiber ’ s high-count Silicon Forest fiber cross connection service .
GTT ’ s global Tier 1 IP backbone is ranked among the largest in the industry connecting more than 260 cities on six continents .
GTT Communications , a leading global provider of managed network and security services to multinational organizations , has announced an expanded partnership with Ziply Fiber , a provider of fiber networks purpose-built for the
Internet , to establish a new network Point of Presence ( PoP ) to serve the fast-growing data center market in Portland , Oregon .
The new PoP is providing an initial 400G of capacity to customers in the US Pacific
“ This new PoP deployment creates an exciting opportunity to use the Ziply Fiber network to allow our regional data center customers to easily connect to , and take advantage of , GTT ’ s global Tier 1 IP network ,” said Jim Delis , President , Americas Division , GTT .
GTT recently announced a 400G upgrade to its global Tier 1 IP network at multiple network layers including the core IP backbone and metro extensions .
Tarleton appoints Dr Zach Gorman as CIO
Zach Gorman has been named Tarleton State University
CIO and Assistant Vice President for Information Technology Services .
Dr Gorman will guide Tarleton ’ s IT program , accountable for information management , computing , communications , infrastructure , service and support and applications operations .
He joins Tarleton after five years as CIO at Bradley University in Peoria , Illinois , where he championed data-driven decisionmaking and expanded research and academic programs .
“ Dr Gorman ’ s experience will advance Tarleton ’ s IT infrastructure to support research , innovative technology and digital solutions for students and employees ,” said Lori Beaty , Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration . “ His commitment to exemplary service and innovation make him a perfect fit .”
Prior to joining Bradley , Dr Gorman served as IT Director at Georgia Tech , Associate CIO at Augusta University and IT Manager at the University of Iowa .

Dr Gorman earned a Doctor of Education from Georgia Southern University , a master ’ s in organizational leadership from St . Ambrose University and a bachelor ’ s in management information systems from Iowa State University .
