OMAN
Omantel , the leading provider of integrated communications and technology solutions in the Sultanate of Oman , has announced the signing of a partnership agreement with the international emerging technology company ‘ ETCO ’ aimed at providing satellite image data analysis services for the Cube Satellite ( Aman Sat ).
The agreement was signed by Dr Ghalib bin Saif Al Hosni , Chief People Officer at Omantel , and Eng . Abdul Aziz Jaafar , the Chief Executive Officer of ETCO .

Based on the terms of the agreement , which was signed at the Cornwall Spaceport in the UK , Omantel will contribute to this project with its technical expertise in Information Technology and digitalisation as a technology partner to Aman Mission .

The Central Bank of Jordan and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission have signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of enhancing joint co-operation between the two parties in the areas of financial services . The Governor of the Central Bank , Dr Adel Al-Sharkas , stressed the importance of the partnership between the Central Bank and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in order to strengthen the bonds of co-operation in the field of supervision and oversight of the entities subject to the control and supervision of the two parties in general . stc Group , a leading regional digital enabler , and Oracle Corporation , a multinational cloud and technology company , have launched a partnership agreement enabling the two organisations to better serve both local and regional markets and support national digitalisation objectives as part of KSA ’ s Vision 2030 .
This announcement came after a visit by Oracle ’ s CEO Safra A . Catz to stc ’ s headquarters where the two parties commemorated 18 years of partnership and discussed further collaboration between the two organisations .
This will contribute to building an integrated database of money transfers in the Kingdom and enhance financial stability , as well as providing effective financial services to serve the Jordanian financial consumer .
“ This agreement confirms the commitment from both stc and Oracle to bring to the market the needed cloud based technological infrastructure and applications to support regional digital economy ambitions ,” said stc Group CEO Eng . Olayan Alwetaid .
