FINAL WORD
For sure , this is not a completely new topic . Those who have followed the market in recent decades have seen the growing discussions on the impact of companies on the environment and development , carbon emissions and other more specific topics such as recycling and reusing waste growth – the latter especially relevant to the technology sector .
The 90s were marked by numerous and intense discussions about sustainability and it was at the beginning of it that the Eco 92 conference , organized by the UN , got the topic under the spotlight worldwide – especially in Brazil , the country that hosted the meeting . but adding a significant look at governance . This means reinforcing our commitment to integrity and ethics , formalized in codes and documents that increasingly add transparency to corporate processes and business relationships .
Another very important thing is to keep in mind the need to learn from those who do it , seeking benchmarks and best practices inside and outside Brazil to ensure that mistakes and successes are going to be used to create an increasingly effective and well-structured path . It is also important to guarantee mechanisms for listening and understanding the public on the subject .
The conclusions of the debate highlighted the urgency for companies to look more closely at environmental and social impacts .
With the ESG agenda , we have the opportunity and the duty to broaden this debate , looking not only at issues related to the environment and sustainability
I believe more and more that the ESG agenda should be prioritized by the entire market .
