Liberty Latin America supports greater gender equality in tech
This effort is part of Liberty Latin America ’ s on-going commitment to pursue greater equality , diversity and inclusion .

Liberty Latin America has joined together with the Society of
Women Coders to launch an initiative aimed at empowering the next generation of women leaders in technology fields .
The partnership will provide the opportunity for 800 young women across the Caribbean and Latin America to participate in a 20-week virtual course focused on digital literacy , web development and coding skills .
Kavya Krishna , Co-founder and CEO of the Society of Women Coders , said : “ Through our work around the world , we have seen firsthand the impact that can be made in communities by empowering women and teaching them digital literacy skills .
“ This program provides not only technical training , but offers mentorship , leadership skills and networking that will be beneficial long after the course is completed .”
TIM Brasil reaches over 1,000 sites leveraging Gilat ’ s platform
Gilat Satellite Networks , a worldwide leader in satellite networking technology , has announced that TIM Brasil , a Tier-1 mobile network operator , has reached a milestone of over 1,000 sites leveraging Gilat ’ s SkyEdge II-c platform to build the largest 4G satellite cellular backhaul network in Latin America .
Gilat ’ s platform demonstrates carrier grade service levels in support of the extended 4G rural coverage and agriculture IoT connectivity . The large network provides a major push to bridging the digital divide in Brazil .
As new sites are added to the 4G network , Gilat provides to TIM Brasil a one-stop-shop for timely deployment , commissioning and activation of satellite backhaul services , leveraging Gilat ’ s local presence and delivery capabilities .
