Simplifying and optimising the data management process

With the exponential growth of data , Cristián Cabezas , Solutions Director , NTT Chile , tells us how to simplify and optimise the process of data management .

In the global context of the Covid-19 pandemic , companies are maximizing their resources . This situation can be seen in the reduction of physical work areas such as offices , while favoring remote communication between workers . These changes are also pertinent to IT areas , whose challenges are related to the simplification of their structures since redundancy of IT resources usually occurs .

Today the goal for IT managers is the adoption of modular work processes , particularly at the back-office and infrastructure level . Additionally , this scenario must co-exist today with the exponential growth of data with the need for availability of information right on time , online and based on standards , meaning that information must be usable and understandable for all teamwork in any organization . not about becoming more technological by fashion or by what the competition is developing – quite the opposite . We are talking about using new resources in an intelligent way with the most competent people in my company , my business or my entrepreneurship , in relation to this task .
Using multiple technology solution providers generally requires large sums of money , a part of the implied management difficulties . This claimed to use a public cloud computing service , while 72 % had made the decision to adopt private cloud computing solutions . In addition , 69 % selected a hybrid solution . These results undoubtedly grew in 2020 and reveal that the field of cloud solutions will consolidate between 2021 and 2022 , especially for Latin America . In turn , the International Data Corporation ( IDC ) highlighted that cloud investments will double in the next five years .
We are talking about a paradigm shift for companies that want to scale their computing capabilities . Both hybrid cloud solutions or multicloud environments are presented as
How can this be made simpler ? There are many answers for this question , but it ’ s clear that today we have technological tools and solutions around cloud computing and mobile connectivity . We are talking about a new operating model for the IT areas where virtual and physical , the software and the hardware , integrate one to another .
What is important in facing this new reality is to promote an ecosystem of mixed solutions and never take for granted that there is just ‘ a unique model ’. The point is to be in charge and oversee at least three different angles . First , see the potential of the cloud ; second , see the forthcoming installed capacity ; and thirdly see a middle point to adopt both worlds in a way that apply to the business . This is reality not only brings financial challenges , but logistical too . Hence , migration to cloud environments represents an opportunity , a centralization of data whose systems are fully scalable , which mean that the systems adjust to the needs that are produced according to external and internal contexts .
The RightScale 2019 State of Cloud report noted that 91 % of the companies surveyed the most appropriate options for entities that today face enormous challenges in customer relationships and , above all , in security issues . In Chile , this issue is still a long way off , either due to ignorance or gaps that probably occur in training processes . For this reason , it is key that we begin to internalize these concepts that will determine our degree of competitiveness in relation to the markets where we operate . p
