“ Last year we started a modernization project that we wanted to pursue to boost the company . We made our first robots for our accounting processes . This has dramatically reduced the number of hours repetitive processes take to complete ,” said Durán .
Seven robots currently operating in this area will be joined by other new ones for the administrative , logistics and customer service areas .
And in the plantations , the company is now relying on sensors that provide real-time information about the climate and the conditions of the vine and grapes . Durán tells us that : “ This project is very informative . Now that the harvest is taking place we are using sensors in six wineries . We are testing software in the cloud , with the Research and Development Center , where we have developed databases , we connect sensors , and we develop mobile applications to have them on tablet to move in the winery , in such a way that winemakers can have the information in real time .”
But first , it is necessary to have the data insured and Pure Storage becomes relevant in this important respect , particularly in a historical period like the one we are living in , in which the entire administrative area had to work from home .

“ If a Pure Storage unit was stolen , that is , our information was stolen from inside a data center , the information could not be read , it can only be done with special keys that we have in the system . In that sense , it is very well supported , we have other mechanisms , most of the hard drives are in Pure Storage so that they start up in Pure Storage because all the data is encrypted .”
Now Concha & Toro is in a good position to focus its technology goals for the future .
“ Actually , we have another very important area where we have invested , which is analytics , because within our vision we , as IT , see ourselves in a company that works in real time and we take that to each of the activities of the day ,” said Durán .
“ We have data update issues every hour , for example . In Chile they can see how the orders are arriving every hour , some of which are made by phone because of quarantine restrictions . But in normal times people would be selling in person and supervisors would receive a sales update every hour .” p
“ The first concern is access to corporate information on the servers . We use double authentication processes and if the system validates the information you can gain access . If not , access is denied ,” said Durán .
“ You also have to worry about the data and information that resides on the servers . With Pure Storage and the providers that we have in the cloud , we checked that they have the appropriate certifications to handle encryption from a certain level upwards and that Pure
