Vinos Concha & Toro has a centuries-old winemaking tradition and its products are recognized on five continents . Data production begins at the vine and ends with the glass of wine in the hand of the consumer .

Vast volumes of data is produced from the packaging , export and distribution operations which take place on a global scale , in an undertaking that includes , in addition to Chile , the company ’ s work in Argentina , Brazil , England , Sweden and now China .
Finally , all the data generated in these processes must be added to the commercial , financial , accounting and marketing processes , among others , which require immediate responses to maintain competitiveness and offer a quality of service identical to the one that they have with their wines .
In this regard , Diego Durán , CIO at Concha & Toro , said : “ Being a winery , we have defined for a long time , as a strategy , that we are going to dedicate ourselves to understanding the company ’ s business processes and look for the best technology that can be adjusted to the needs of the company , but not be a producer or generator of software code ourselves .”
A demanding selection process
According to Durán , the search for a data storage ally began almost a decade ago .
“ In 2012 , we made a tender to remove the storage from within the company , we did not want it anymore and we did not want to be concerned about the growth of the discs that we needed to buy periodically to enlarge the solution and we left to go to a third party here in Chile who gave us storage service ,” he said .
“ At the beginning everything was going very well , but in 2013 , in around October , we started having serious problems with the speed of the response times of
