Data Literacy Academy raises more than US $ 500,000 pre-seed funding to advance its mission to close the data skills gap

Data Literacy Academy , which transforms organisations through data literacy upskilling of all employees , has raised more than half a million dollars in its pre-seed funding round , for its online learning platform and change programme services , which has been led by Haatch Ventures .

The UK Business Data Survey 2022 found that 85 % of all UK businesses handle digital data , rising to almost all for those with 10 or more employees . Despite this , there is a dearth of data skills , with around a quarter of businesses saying their sectors have insufficient data skills and almost half ( 46 %) of businesses admitting to have struggled to recruit for roles that require data skills .
Upskilling and empowering employees to be more data literate has a multitude of benefits , including improved decision-making , more innovation and productivity and better employee and customer experience .

ServiceNow signs MOU with CCS to drive innovation across national and local government

ServiceNow has announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU ) with Crown Commercial Service ( CCS ), providing access to all UK public sector departments to ServiceNow ’ s platform technology .

The agreement will offer customers access to competitive rates , discounts and a wide variety of commercial benefits . ServiceNow is also investing in skills and Digital Transformation funding to help the government in its initiative to level up jobs and skills . This investment recognises and helps reduce the cost pressure on the government , while simultaneously improving the capability for innovation .
CCS – one of the UK ’ s largest public procurement organisations – supports the UK public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services . In 2021 / 22 , CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £ 2.8 billion – supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers . The MOU with ServiceNow will further support and extend the relationship it has with numerous public sector organisations , including the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs ( DEFRA ), HMRC , Ministry of Justice and NHS Digital . “ This partnership with ServiceNow will create an environment where agility and flexibility are valued and promoted , improving civil servant and colleagues ’ engagement and retention ,” said Philip Orumwense CBE , Commercial Director and Chief Technology Procurement Officer at Crown Commercial Service . “ It will allow government and the wider public sector customers access to a range of competitive rates and discounts across their technology platform while supporting the Digital Transformation of the UK ’ s public sector .”
