CIO Europe. This month’s cover
story is a case study between
Man AHL and Pure Storage. The case study
places a spotlight on the work between
the two companies and how Pure Storage
supplied investment enterprise Man AHL
with its all-flash storage system built for
modern analytics, known as FlashBlade.
The customer wanted to find a solution that
could scale with the growth of the company
in terms of managing its data storage and
Man AHL felt that the FlashBlade solution
could help it in delivering an ever more
performant technology platform. Man AHL
was also set on finding a solution that could
provide much greater IOPS and bandwidth
to enhance performance and efficiency and
Pure Storage also helped the company to
achieve this.
Another case study which features this
month focuses on the delivery of Fisher
Jones Greenwood’s improved network
connectivity service with Six Degrees as the
vendor. As a provider of communication
infrastructure, Six Degrees’ solution enabled
the customer to improve its inter-office data
and voice communication service to enable
it to become extremely reliable. The quality
of communication has now improved for

Fisher Jones Greenwood and the company is
extremely satisfied with the outcome.
This issue’s ‘Country Focus’ sees farmers
in the UK agricultural industry feeling the
pressure to digitally innovate in terms of
recording their data, as it is now being used
relentlessly within the industry to improve
manufacturing, buy inputs and recommend
products. Farmers are learning how to
leverage their data through the use of
Information Technology software in order to
keep up with expanding rates of innovation.
Data management is a topic on the minds
of many professionals within the industry
