Reaktor opens Lisbon office to accelerate tech developer community growth

Reaktor , the Finland-founded technology consultancy , has announced the opening of its office in Lisbon , Portugal – the latest addition to the company ’ s expanding network of tech talent hubs across Europe .

Within the next three to four years , the company aims to recruit 100 + engineers , including coders . Reflecting a locationagnostic environment where remote working is widespread , the office is due to officially open in December 2021 .
Ambassadors from Reaktor ’ s HQ in Helsinki have already relocated to embed the dynamic , people-first company culture and help build it in Lisbon , bringing a wealth of skills and knowledge and enabling new recruits to find value and meaning in their work .
Appointed to lead the new office is Nizar Jouini , who joined as a developer eight years ago and is now head of engineering . He is also in charge of global talent growth in European markets . His 20 + years ’ experience consulting within the tech industry position him as an expert engineer recruiter . He led the Amsterdam expansion from Helsinki and has a background in software development in startups through to enterprise .
Nizar Jouini , Head of Engineering at Reaktor , said : “ Our priority in Lisbon is to develop a tight community and set up a system for advancing our tech skills . Our aim is to become the best possible place for developers to learn from other equally passionate professionals , grow in their profession and have a good time while doing so .”

UK manufacturers are feeling the cybersecurity heat

The UK ’ s manufacturing sector has been severely tested by cybersecurity attacks since the start of the pandemic , according to new research by Keeper Security . company experienced 30 cyberattacks during the past year alone , with 85 % expecting that figure to increase over the coming 12 months . to cybersecurity , with nearly a third ( 30 %) of manufacturers experiencing disruption to trade through successful cyberattacks and 28 % also suffering disruption to supply chains .

This has led to gaps in cybersecurity provision , ranging from a lack of necessary skills to poor security hygiene .
According to the research , 60 % of employees don ’ t understand the cybersecurity implications of poor password hygiene . Just 24 % also admit that they lack the skills to deal with cyberattacks and 58 % believe the UK has a skills shortage among IT workers , directly impacting their company ’ s cybersecurity .
