Interxion extends global platform with construction of MRS4 , its new data centre in Marseille

leading interconnection and content hubs . The connected data community in Marseille brings together key participants such as connectivity providers , hybrid IT providers and the submarine landing cable station and Internet hub .
As a result , customers in Marseille now have access to more than 700 providers on PlatformDIGITAL in EMEA alone . In 2020 , participants in the company ’ s connected data communities more than doubled from 2,000 to 4,000 plus globally .

Interxion , a leading European provider of carrier- and cloud-neutral colocation data centre solutions , has announced the start of construction for MRS4 , its fourth data centre in Marseille .

The continued development of the Marseille campus in France represents a strategic expansion of PlatformDIGITAL , a first of its kind global data centre platform for scaling digital business . When fully built out , the new site is expected to offer up to 13.6 megawatts ( MW ) of customer capacity and approximately 6,700m 2 of total equipped space .

Built on the Marseille Fos port , in the immediate vicinity of MRS2 and MRS3 , MRS4 will benefit from the exceptional geographical location in the heart of the Mediterranean , as well as direct access to the submarine cable systems connected to Marseille . These capabilities make Marseille a gateway for telecom , cloud and digital access between Europe and other continents .

Nokia accelerates Telenor and Telia joint 5G network rollout in Denmark

Nokia continues to build upon its ongoing business with leading

Danish mobile operators , Telenor and Telia via their joint network ( TTN ) accelerating the delivery of 5G services nationwide following the availability of 3.5 GHz spectrum .
Nokia is the exclusive supplier of 5G RAN and will support the modernisation of the shared network ensuring TTN ’ s 3 million customers have the best connectivity experiences . The availability of spectrum in the 3.5GHz band will offer incredibly fast 5G speeds to customers .
The modernisation deal will focus initially on Denmark ’ s four largest cities before expanding to cover most Danish customers during 2022 . It will see Nokia provide its ReefShark SoC ( System on Chip ) based AirScale 5G RAN portfolio including 5G Massive MIMO antennas to deliver enhanced ultra-fast , low-latency and highcapacity mobile broadband services to both TTN ’ s consumer and enterprise customers .
The deal will see Nokia continue its partnership with both companies and the operation of the joint network , which first started in 2012 . Nokia together with Telenor and Telia was the first to test 5G in Denmark and among the first to activate 5G on a shared network .
TTN is Denmark ’ s largest mobile network with more than 4,300 sites . The merger between the two networks first began in 2012 with both companies each owning 50 % of the network .
It provides customers with better coverage , capacity and quality , as well as reducing the companies ’ overall CO 2 footprint .
