Nokia has announced it has been selected by Swisscom to transform the operator ’ s existing infrastructure to a fully automated and high-capacity optical transport network . Nokia is the sole supplier to build the end-to-end wavelength division multiplexing / optical transport network ( WDM / OTN ) nationwide , which will support Swisscom customers ’ surging bandwidth demands driven by an increase in remote work and learning applications , video streaming , gaming and cloud computing .

LaLiga , Spain ’ s premier football association , and Microsoft have announced an expansion of their partnership focused on digitally transforming the sports experience globally . The companies will also collaborate on developing technology solutions to the media and entertainment industry through LaLiga ’ s technology offering , LaLiga Tech . Sensei , the autonomous retail tech company , is launching an autonomous store in partnership with Sonae , a leading Portuguese retailer . Food retailer , Continente , part of Sonae group , has opened Continente Labs , powered by Sensei ’ s autonomous technology solution . Shoppers will enjoy a frictionless and seamless shopping experience . Guests in store download the Continente Labs App , which acts as a digital payment method . The app generates a QR code that enables users to enter the store , pick their items and leave without having to queue to pay .

NORDICS
Caterpillar has announced that Microsoft will use Cat C175-20 and C18 generator sets to provide complete standby power solutions in the first phase of data centres under construction in Sweden . All the generator sets can be powered by Preem Evolution Diesel Plus , a renewable liquid fuel . The facilities will be among Microsoft ’ s most advanced and sustainable data centres , featuring energy-saving designs , power from 100 % renewable energy sources and ambitions for zero-waste operations .
