SEVEN IN 10 CISOS BELIEVE CYBERWARFARE IS AN IMMINENT THREAT TO THEIR ORGANISATIONS
Seven in every 10 CISOs ( 71 %) believe cyberwarfare is a threat to their organisation , and yet just over a fifth ( 22 %) admit to not having a strategy in place to mitigate this risk . This is especially alarming during a period of unprecedented global disruption , as half of InfoSec professionals ( 50 %) agree that the increase of cyberwarfare will be detrimental to the economy in the next 12 months .
CISOs and InfoSec professionals are
shoring up their defences – with
51 % and 48 % respectively stating that they believe they will need a strategy against cyberwarfare in the next 12 – 18 months . These findings , and more , are revealed in Bitdefender ’ s global 10 in 10 Study . It explores , in detail , the gap between how security decision-makers and InfoSec professionals view the current security landscape and highlights the changes they know they will need to make in the upcoming months and years . The study takes into account the views and opinions of more than 6,724 InfoSec professionals representing a broad cross-section of organisations from small 101 + employee businesses to publicly listed 10,000 + person enterprises in a wide variety of industries , including technology , finance , healthcare and government .
The rise and fall ( and rise again ) of ransomware

During the disruption of 2020 , ransomware has surged with as much as 43 % of InfoSec professionals reporting that they are seeing a rise in ransomware attacks .
