Kaspersky launches new programme to help universities and laboratories advance their industrial cybersecurity research

Kaspersky has launched a dedicated collaboration programme to help institutions become better equipped at understanding the latest and most prevalent industrial cybersecurity threats . By joining the programme , educational institutions , laboratories , research departments , Security Operations Centres ( SOC ) and emergency response teams ( CERT and CSIRT ) that meet the partner profile criteria will be able to improve how they conduct their research and train

cybersecurity specialists using the Kaspersky Industrial Cybersecurity solution for free .
Industrial organisations keep facing the challenge of how to defend their industrial control systems ( ICS ) from a wide range of attacks . For instance , Kaspersky ’ s solutions helped to block malicious objects on nearly half ( 46 %) of ICS computers worldwide in 2019 . With this in mind , laboratories and institutions are constantly working to create methods that reduce the risks to industrial processes and systems and develop requirements for safe industrial processes .
By closely collaborating with vendors , researchers who embrace dedicated security solutions can yield better results and foster the capabilities industrial organisations need to detect and defend themselves against the latest cyberthreats .

Thy-Mors Energi Elnet increases data quality and professionalises its IT system

The Danish electric utility distribution company , Thy-Mors Energi Elnet , has received great help from the software house , Powel , to professionalise its data quality and IT setup , allowing it to meet current complex challenges in the power grid .

These advancements are of great value for Thy-Mors Energi Elnet , which has carried out a significant operational turnaround over the past two years .

Inaccurate analyses and clunky manual processes
Powel employs both software developers and consultants , that have collaborated with Thy-Mors Energi Elnet to modernise their work . Calculations and web analytics were hard to make because some systems were not updated .
Registered the grid in ArcGIS
The turnaround started with a complete online registration in ArcGIS . This work required close collaboration between Thy- Mors Energi Elnet and Powel ’ s consultants .
