Venafi reveals security concern about
election infrastructure
automatically spread information and direct
attacks on the systems that count votes,”
said Kevin Bocek, Vice President of Security
Strategy and Threat Intelligence at Venafi.
“Security professionals are rightly concerned
about cyberthreats impacting the
democratic process. Organisations may have
difficulty curbing deceptive or inaccurate
information from people – however, they
can keep their machines from spreading
malicious disinformation.”
Venafi, an inventor and leading provider
of machine identity protection, has
announced the results of a survey on election
infrastructure cybersecurity. The survey
evaluated the opinions of 485 IT security
professionals attending RSA Conference
2020. According to Venafi’s survey, 70%

Bocek continued: “The election season is

Cyberattackers may take advantage of

election data.”
Leaseweb UK opens Slough data centre to
broaden UK footprint
Leaseweb UK, a leading hosting and cloud

the UK and is undertaken in partnership
with storage and information management
services company, Iron Mountain, which
acquired Leaseweb’s sister company,
EvoSwitch, in 2018. In joining an
important UK connectivity hub in the
home counties, Leaseweb UK will offer
competitively priced colocation services to a
wider customer base and expanded disaster
recovery (DR) services to existing customers
including service management software
specialist, TOPdesk.
The growth in adoption of data-driven
strategies to derive business value has led to
increased demand for as-a-service offerings
such as those provided by Leaseweb UK.
Eltjo Hofstee, Managing Director of Leaseweb
UK, said: “Leaseweb’s expertise in these
areas puts us in a strong position to leverage
this trend and help businesses position

in Slough enables us to tap into one of the
biggest connectivity hubs in the UK outside
of London, therefore enhancing our ability to
deliver according to these needs.”
