Fujitsu extends product portfolio with energy- harvesting components Oracle Belgium celebrates opening of its new Cloud eXperience Center F ujitsu Electronics Europe (FEEU) is expanding its ultra-low-power line card portfolio to include products from the Belgian manufacturer e-peas. Based on years of research, e-peas has developed energy-harvesting solutions with market- leading technical parameters. The offered components support a wide range of energy sources such as photovoltaic, thermal, vibration or RF. With the new partnership, FEEU seeks to strategically extend its portfolio and create new synergies between the offered products and services. The commercially available AEM10940 features an ultra-low-power boost converter with an efficiency of up to 94% with voltage references, energy management circuitry and LDO regulators. In addition to the converter efficiency, the product also has a cold start capability at an input voltage of only 380 mV and an input power of just 11 μW. Another benefit is the low number of external components needed. Another advantage of working with FEEU is the reliability and speed of Fujitsu’s global supply chain. In addition, as an ISO 14001-certified company, FEEU takes care of the environment by reducing waste materials for PCB packaging. “Fujitsu has been supplying the market with FRAM for metering applications for many years. We therefore have a thorough understanding of the challenges involved in powering applications with an operational life of at least 10 years. Thanks to the expansion of our portfolio to include e-peas products, we can now offer a high-quality alternative to batteries and cable- based power supply,” said Axel Tripkewitz, President & Managing Director of FEEU. www.intelligentcio.com O racle Belgium has opened its new Cloud eXperience Center. Alexander De Croo, Minister of Digital Agenda, officially inaugurated the Cloud eXperience Center in the presence of Oracle customers and partners. After the inauguration and networking reception, all guests were invited to visit the Cloud eXperience Center, where they experienced innovative technology and discussed how digital transformation affects organisations. The Cloud eXperience Center is an innovative place where visionary business and technology experts inspire you. Where you can experience promising, upcoming technologies that are run on the cloud. Blockchain, chatbots, machine learning and artificial intelligence are just a few examples of such technologies. Jan Ronsse, Managing Director Oracle Belgium & Luxembourg, explained the philosophy behind the Cloud eXperience Center: “Everyone is talking about new technologies but it is not always easy to understand the impact, even though some have been around now for several years. The reason everyone is talking about new technologies today is that we now have such vast amounts of data, that smart computers are needed to process all that data. Here, the benefits of artificial intelligence come to the surface. Another example are the cryptocurrencies as an application domain of blockchain. By showing our visitors how technologies can be applied, Oracle demonstrates their potential and companies can then use them to their advantage. I look forward to welcoming new technologies to our Cloud eXperience Center.” Alexander De Croo, Minister of Digital Agenda, said: “In a rapidly evolving digital world, the expectations of customers about how they want to interact with businesses and how they want to access information are changing. The physical meeting is largely being replaced by digital communications and the speed of interaction has increased dramatically. Businesses need to adapt to this and that’s why initiatives like Oracle’s Cloud eXperience Center are important to further fuel digital transformation.” INTELLIGENTCIO 19
