UK
O2, a UK communications service provider, has launched
commercial 5G in several major cities enabled by Ericsson 5G Cloud
Core and 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) products and solutions.
Ericsson-enabled O2 5G networks have been switched on in
Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and Leeds, supporting commercially
available O2 5G smartphones.
Ericsson Cloud Core network for 5G includes Cloud Packet Core and
Cloud Unified Data Management and Policy, while 5G New Radio
(NR) RAN product and solutions from the Ericsson Radio System
include Baseband 6630, Radio 8823 and AIR 6488.
SPAIN
Sapiens International Corporation, a leading global provider

that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Cálculo, a
leading vendor of insurance consulting and managed services and a
core solution to the Spanish market.
Cálculo was established in 1966 and possesses over 150 insurance
experts and 25 insurance company customers in Spain. The
company’s team of experts, one of the largest core insurance system
teams in Spain, and impressive customer base that includes
several blue-chip companies, will help Sapiens continue its
global expansion by entering the large Iberian market.
