///////////////////////////////////// FINAL WORD Achieving successful Digital Transformation in three easy steps Digital Transformation is evolving at a rapid pace and it is intriguing to hear about the potential trends that could develop in this new year. Gijsbert Janssen van Doorn, Tech Evangelist at Zerto, discusses the importance of offering an always-on customer experience, seamless workload mobility and the advantages of a multi-cloud strategy. D igital Transformation may be one of the most popular buzzwords at present but when it comes down to it, it can actually be quite a daunting task for an organisation to address. Yes, the ultimate goal is to improve how the business works in every aspect, but this doesn’t happen overnight and requires a great deal of patience and planning to execute. A company’s technological foundation is the driver of much of this transformation but at the same time, IT is under constant scrutiny to deliver ROI while continuing to modernise. But if an organisation’s IT infrastructure is working perfectly fine and employees and customers are getting exactly what they need, why would the organisation choose to evolve it? To put it simply, good enough isn’t actually good enough anymore. To take advantage of the more business opportunities in the competitive landscape, companies need to be more efficient, nimble and data- driven. Modern technology upgrades are also a way of driving costs down, helping companies to scale and providing better insights into resource usage. It’s something all organisations should be considering, but ultimately, requires a measurable amount of planning and preparation. 84 INTELLIGENTCIO www.intelligentcio.com
