Intel invests additional US $ 475 million in Vietnam
Manager of Intel Products Vietnam , said : “ As of the end of 2020 , Intel Products Vietnam has shipped more than 2 billion units to customers worldwide . We ’ re very proud of this milestone , which shows both how important IPV is to helping Intel meet the needs of its customers all around the world , and why we continue to invest in our facilities and team here in Vietnam .”
Intel Corporation has announced it has invested a further US $ 475 million in Intel Products Vietnam ( IPV ).
This new investment is in addition to Intel ’ s US $ 1 billion investment to build a state-of-the-art chip assembly and test manufacturing facility in Saigon Hi-Tech Park ( SHTP ), first announced in 2006 . This takes Intel ’ s total investment in its Vietnam facility to US $ 1.5 billion .

IPV is the largest assembly and test manufacturing facility in the Intel assembly and test network . It has more than 2,700 employees and serves customers around the world . IPV is one of 10 manufacturing sites that Intel has globally and remains the largest US high-tech investment in Vietnam .
Nguyen Anh Thi , President of SHTP , said : “ The increased investment decision from Intel means a great deal to us and proves Intel ’ s great confidence in the local workforce and the stable investment environment in Vietnam and SHTP , in particular .”
5G world-first achieved by Telstra and partners on Gold Coast
Telstra , in collaboration with Ericsson and Qualcomm Technologies , has achieved a new 5G maximum download speed record on a commercial network of 5Gbps for a single user . The 5G NR data call was performed at the 5G Innovation Center on the Gold Coast in Australia using the commercial production network .
Emilio Romeo , Head of Ericsson of Ericsson Australia and New Zealand , said : “ Since achieving a world-first milestone with the 2Gbps LTE technology back in 2018 , we have worked tirelessly with Telstra and Qualcomm

This world first , using the commercial production network and a smartphone form factor mobile test device , is a result of the continued effort to not only increase the speed capability of the network for all Telstra customers but unlock key lessons for Telstra to implement in the immediate future . The achievement builds on a previous 4.2Gbps maximum download speed capability achieved in September 2020 . The milestone will see Telstra customers experience a more advanced network performance , paving the way for greater capacity and capabilities on the network .
