Equinix invests over US $ 86 million to build third data center in Mumbai market , MB3 IBX will be adjacent to Equinix MB2 IBX data center and 1.5 kilometers away from MB1 IBX data center .

The first phase of MB3 is scheduled to open in Q2 2024 , providing an initial capacity of more than 1,375 cabinets , and more than 4,150 cabinets when fully built out .

Equinix has announced an initial investment of over US $ 86 million to build its third International Business Exchange ( IBX ) data center in Mumbai , to be named MB3 .

This initial investment includes an acquisition of a parcel of land , which provides a total space of nearly four acres , allowing Equinix to continue growing its rich ecosystem on Platform Equinix across India , supporting the country ’ s growing digital economy .

Equinix and PGIM Real Estate open first xScale data center in Sydney for hyperscalers

Equinix and PGIM Real Estate have announced the opening of the first xScale data center in Sydney , named SY9x .

As the first of the two data centers to be developed and operated under the joint venture with PGIM Real Estate , SY9x currently provides more than 14 MW of power capacity and will provide more than 28 MW when fully built out to meet the surging demand for cloud-based platforms and services among businesses in Australia .

By deploying at Equinix xScale data centers , hyperscale companies can add core deployments to their existing access point footprints at Equinix International Business Exchange ( IBX ) data centers .
