Business Exchange ( IBX ) data center in Perth , Australia , named PE3 .
With an initial investment of US $ 54 million ( approximately A $ 71.7 million ), PE3 is the company ’ s 18th IBX in Australia and strengthens Perth ’ s position as the digital gateway between Australia , Asia-Pacific and the Middle East .

NEXTDC launches first edge data center on Sunshine Coast
NEXTDC has announced the launch of its new edge data center network with the acquisition of its first regional data center site in Maroochydore , on Queensland ’ s Sunshine Coast ( SC1 ).
SC1 is the first in a series of geographically dispersed , edge data centers that will enable low-latency services to regional businesses and networks across Australia .
Leveraging NEXTDC ’ s core data center platform , these new edge sites form regional digital hubs , enabling businesses to seamlessly integrate their technology to aaS providers and cloud platforms .
This new infrastructure will help bolster support for regional business communities , helping drive innovation , connectivity and growth more easily through enhanced access to digital services previously uncatered for .
