NEC Corporation has announced that the NEC SX-Aurora TSUBASA vector supercomputer set a record in the STAC-A2 Benchmark tests , which measure the computational performance of Monte Carlo-based risk simulations common in financial markets . An independent audit conducted in April 2021 by the Securities Technology Analysis Center ( STAC ) showed this solution had the fastest time of any system STAC has publicly reported to date . Based on the results of the STAC-A2 , NEC aims to use SX-Aurora TSUBASA to help improve the fairness and reliability of financial markets .

GDS Holdings , a leading developer and operator of highperformance data centers in China , has announced the first step in the expansion of its platform to South East Asia with plans to develop a hyperscale data center campus in Johor , Malaysia . The company has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire greenfield land in the Nusajaya Tech Park , Johor , immediately adjacent to Singapore . According to the initial design , the company intends to develop the site into a data center campus comprising a total net floor area of approximately 22,500 sqm , with 54 MW of total IT power capacity . The first phase of the development , with an IT power capacity of 18 MW , is expected to be completed in early 2024 .

Progress , a leading provider of products to develop , deploy and manage high-impact business applications , has announced that Progress MOVEit Cloud , the first enterprise-class , cloudbased , Managed File Transfer ( MFT ) software , is now available via Microsoft Azure in Australia to help businesses meet complex compliance and data protection regulation needs . With four new Azure regions , including the UK and two in Australia , MOVEit Cloud enables customers to deploy MOVEit Transfer in Microsoft Azure either as-a-Service or in an Azure instance they can independently manage . Customers in the UK and Australia needing to achieve data security compliance , lower latency during file transfer , or who wish to maintain data physically within the UK or Australia while operating in Azure , will benefit from the move .
