TUNISIA
In its continued commitment to academic innovation across the continent , Honoris United Universities , the first and largest pan-African network of private higher education institutions , has announced the rollout of its first pan-African augmented and virtual reality platform in partnership with California-based tech company , EON Reality . Students will have the opportunity to experience virtual field trips , undergo simulated lab exercises , emulate real-life building projects .

KENYA
Nokia has partnered with multiple stakeholders , including Safaricom , UNICEF and the Kenyan Ministries of Education and ICT , to connect close to 90 schools to the Internet in Kenya . Both rural and disadvantaged urban settlements have benefitted from the initiative , which also supports digitisation and digital literacy . The initiative aims to “ connect the unconnected ”, with the ultimate goal of supporting the Kenyan Government ’ s plans to scale broadband connection to all schools by 2030 .

DJIBOUTI
Djibouti Telecom is leveraging Ciena ’ s GeoMesh Extreme solution to upgrade its Djibouti Africa Regional Express1 ( DARE1 ) network to increase digitisation in the East Africa region , which has been widely underserved when it comes to international connectivity . As part of a consortium of telecoms operators , Djibouti Telecom operates eight submarine cable systems , including DARE1 , which crosses Djibouti , Kenya and Somalia .
AstraZeneca and the Royal Academy of Engineering , have officially announced a new partnership to establish connections between African healthcare innovators and AstraZeneca ’ s A . Catalyst Network of more than 20 global health innovation hubs . The joint venture seeks to drive the development of engineering solutions that have the potential to address local challenges with a focus on health tech .

CAMEROON
VYZYO , a rapidly growing mobile financial services technology company , and CAMPOST , the national provider of postal and financial services in Cameroon , have jointly announced that the two companies have signed a commercial partnership agreement to deploy and operate digital payment and mobile financial services throughout Cameroon . VYZYO will initially deploy its VYZYOPay solution for CAMPOST .
