EDITOR ’ S NOTE

Welcome to the latest edition of Intelligent CIO Africa . As more businesses are reaching a pinnacle of their Digital Transformation journeys with most of their IT already running in the cloud , recent research from Synergy Research Group , has found that spending on cloud infrastructure bypassed spending on data centre hardware and software for the first time in 2020 . The study showed that spending on cloud infrastructure services like PaaS , IaaS and hosted private cloud , grew by 35 % to reach almost US $ 130 billion in 2020 .

In this regard , we continue to cover articles in this edition of the magazine addressing the issue of Digital Transformation and cloud infrastructure , and how CIOs are leading their organisations to success with Digital Transformation .
Gracing the cover of this month ’ s edition is Philippe Prodhomme , Group CFO , Axian Group , who tells us why the company recently implemented Oxalys ’ Procurement digital solution to ensure integrity of the procurement process and a high level of traceability throughout the process .
“ The company already uses several ERP systems in its subsidiaries , which have procurement features , but remain limited and do not make it possible to : ensure the integrity of the procurement process and high level of traceability ,” explains Prodhomme .
Among the many insights , Prodhomme shares that : “ We quickly chose to centralise the management of our procurement processes in Oxalys while developing an interface with all of our ERP systems to have greater visibility . The idea with the Oxalys digital procurement solution is also to ensure end-to-end supplier self-care and to have a common supplier database for all the subsidiaries to have a common reference system .”
