GUINEA
MyOffice , a Russian developer of office software , recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of the Republic of Guinea to supply 300,000 MyOffice educational licenses for the needs of all schools in the country for over 10 years . The agreement was signed in Conakry , with the support of Djene Kaba Condé , First Lady of the Republic of Guinea , government representatives and the embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Guinea and Sierra Leone .

SOUTH AFRICA
As part of its commitment to fostering innovation and building digital skills , Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa , recently heralded in a new digital dawn in the Eastern Cape with the opening of the first Innovation and Digital Skills Centre ( IDSC ) in Mthatha . Through the initiative , communities close to the centres will be exposed to local learning and business opportunities . The IDSC will serve as a technology hub where learners and entrepreneurs can equip themselves with the latest and most relevant digital skills .

CAMEROON
Ada Labs Africa and AI Centre of Excellence ( AICE ) recently announced an initiative with NVIDIA to contribute to the digitisation of the African continent through Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) and collaborate on a number of data science and AI projects . The two firms stated that the relationship will strengthen the capability of data science and AI rollouts in Africa as the two organisations collectively work to build capacity to train AI engineers in Africa . The new initiative will also address the scarcity and cost of skilled AI engineers .
With ICT set to become the engine of development in Cameroon in its role as a hub in the Central Africa sub-region , the 2021 tax scheme has been updated to promote innovative ICT start-ups . Eligibility for the benefits of the start-up promotion scheme is subject to the consent of Approved Management Centres dedicated to start-ups . The specific obligations of the Approved Management Centres shall be specified by instrument issued by the Minister in charge of finance .

Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zambia , part of the Liquid Intelligent Technologies group , a pan-African technology company , recently unveiled its new brand identity . The rebrand reflects the organisation ’ s extensive business transformation from being a telecommunications and digital services provider to a full one-stop-shop technology group for local businesses . This rebrand to Liquid Intelligent Technologies highlights the organisation ’ s expansion of its Cloud business , Cyber Security services , and other technologies added to its existing telecoms and connectivity capability .
