Kaspersky appointed cybersecurity partner for UK , Sub-Saharan Africa trade initiative

The appointment will see Kaspersky provide cybersecurity services to both British companies setting up business in Africa and African organisations establishing themselves in the UK .
“ Being named a Commercial Partner in this significant programme designed to increase UK and Africa bilateral trade and ensure stability and prosperity for the markets in a post-Brexit landscape , highlights the trust and belief in Kaspersky as a leading cybersecurity vendor .

Africa House London , a trade agency established to encourage trade , commerce and investment between the UK and a selected number of Sub-Saharan African high-growth markets , has selected Kaspersky as its cybersecurity risk management commercial partner for its trade initiative .

“ As such , Kaspersky is positioned as an expert thought leader on ICT infrastructure security solutions for growth and corporate businesses ,” said Lehan van den Heever , Enterprise Cyber Security Advisor for Kaspersky in Africa .
The trade initiative mechanisms will be deployed through three modules – a cloud-based trading and collaboration platform , workflow and thought leadership resources and , an interactive and searchable customer relationship management database .
In addition , it will provide access to resources and commercial partners , such as Kaspersky , to growth companies either moving into Africa for the first time or expanding their footprint on the continent .

Nokia and UN Women collaborate to promote inclusion and diversity in MEA

Nokia and UN Women have together launched four pilot projects to bolster inclusion and diversity for equality .

These pilots aim to address four different areas such as increasing the number of women employees , raising awareness of cervical cancer and uterine fibroids , promoting science , technology , engineering and mathematics ( STEM ) education and empowering gender-based violence victims .
The collaboration builds on the ongoing partnership of Nokia and UNICEF to increase equitable access to digital literacy , particularly for girls and children with disabilities in Kenya . As part of the current collaboration , Nokia will work on implementing the WEPs , and UN Women will involve Nokia in its outreach initiatives to promote inclusion and diversity in society .

“ Starting with these pilots , our collaboration with Nokia is designed to create and celebrate a more just and inclusive environment so that more and more women will emerge as global agents of change .”
