NEWS SABIS to use Huawei’s Wi-Fi solutions for its school network H uawei has entered into a strategic alliance with SABIS, a global education management organisation, which will use Huawei’s technology to uplift its IT infrastructure on the school and the corporate level. The alliance, which is set to last for two years, will cover all SABIS Network schools located in the Gulf, Levant, Africa, Kurdistan and Europe regions. SABIS school campuses will become more digitally-driven, connecting their cutting-edge SABIS educational software systems using Huawei’s state of the art Wi-Fi 6 technology. It will supply 5G products and solutions from its Radio Access Network (RAN), transport and core portfolios, and as part of its transformation strategy, MTN South Africa is upgrading its core network to support 3GPP-compliant 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) architecture. MTN and Ericsson are working together to identify and develop 5G use cases and applications that will contribute to the Digital Transformation of industry verticals. In addition to providing end-to-end 5G capabilities, Ericsson has been chosen to modernise MTN South Africa’s existing LTE and legacy radio access networks as part of a three-year deal signed last year.
