NEWS International accreditation reduces risk Vox delivers IaaS monitoring solution X perien has achieved British Standards Institution (BSI) accreditation to comply with international high-quality standards and also to enhance its existing service offerings. The certification confirms that Xperien operates a Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with requirements of ISO 9001:2015 for the Collection and Disposal of IT assets and equipment. Xperien Office Manager Ruth Mokwena says proper accreditation means being assessed against internationally recognised standards. “We are proud to be ISO certified, it means we truly operate to the highest levels of quality and service,” she said. “ISO 9001:2015 helps us demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It also serves as a tool to restructure our processes and make us more efficient at what we do, which in turn brings many benefits, including satisfied customers, management and staff. “This accreditation reduces the risk to our customers and gives them complete confidence that we have been independently evaluated for our competence and performance capability. ISO 9001:2015 allows us to adapt to a changing world, it enhances our ability to satisfy our customers and provides a coherent foundation for growth and sustained success.” 8 INTELLIGENTCIO W ith the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) market expected to exceed US$76 billion by 2022, local companies are investigating how best to embrace this shift as they migrate to the cloud. Therefore, integrated ICT and infrastructure provider, Vox has unveiled its IaaS Monitoring solution to help simplify the transition. “Even though the cloud environment is secure, a shared responsibility approach has to be applied. Depending on the cloud service model used, the client still needs to take responsibility for the security of its own servers. It is in this space where our offering comes into its own. The solution comes in two versions – monitoring and monitoring with patch management. “Traditionally, IaaS offerings provide customers with the platform to run their services,” said Barry Kemp, Head of Managed IT at Vox. “Even though many customers have their own internal IT resources, they are often focused on other strategic activities with patch management falling by the wayside. “However, when it came to taking care of their servers and systems, they had to do it themselves. And while this provided them with complete control over their own implementations, inevitably the ongoing maintenance became problematic.” “With the Vox solution, they can continue delivering on their business objectives with us taking care of the onerous patching work and other server monitoring functions as it impacts their IaaS solutions.” www.intelligentcio.com
